Men’s Golf Named to GCAA All-Academic Team
NORMAN, Okla. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team has earned a spot on the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Academic Team, the association announced Tuesday.
A total of 240 schools across six divisions earned a GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team mention, a team must have earned a 3.00 grade-point average (GPA) or above for the 2023-24 academic year.
Among The Southern Conference (SoCon), Furman and Mercer were tabbed to the GCAA Presidents Special Recognition (3.50+), while Samford and Chattanooga joined UNCG on the GCAA All-Academic Team.
Along with the team award, five Spartans were also named to the GCAA All-America Scholar list, including Symon Balbin, Noah Connor, Randall Hudson, Tommy Lamb and Jack Marcotte, the association announced last week.
The Spartans anticipate the start of the 2024-25 season as the team will open the season by hosting the Bryan National Collegiate Sept. 8-10 at Bryan Park in Greensboro, North Carolina.
