Baseball Announces 2025 Schedule
GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball Head Coach Cody Ellis announced the team's 2025 schedule on Thursday.
The Spartans finished the 2024 campaign at 33-21 overall and 15-6 in league play to earn the program's third Southern Conference (SoCon) Regular Season Title. UNCG also claimed a pair of wins over ranked opponents, including the program's second victory over the top team in the nation, defeating then-No. 1 Wake Forest, 4-3, on Feb. 20 at the UNCG Baseball Stadium. The Spartans also dominated No. 13 NC State, 18-3, on March 12 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
"This is arguably one of most challenging schedules we've had here at UNCG," said Ellis. "We have a challenging non-conference schedule early with eight games in a row vs ACC opponents. We also have 10 games overall vs. teams that were in the NCAA tournament last year. This schedule will put us in a good spot to compete for another SoCon Championship."
After the 2024 SoCon Tournament, UNCG led the SoCon in ERA (5.27), fewest runs allowed (312) and lowest opponent batting average (.266). Last season, the Blue & Gold averaged 7.90 runs per game and 3.25 extra base hits per game, while four Spartans had 20 or more extra base hits. The Spartans won eight of their last 11 regular season contests and 10 of their final 12 conference games.
