A native of Linköping, Sweden, Gabelic will compete in the men's singles round of 64 starting on Thursday in Essen Germany at the ETUF-Tennisriege. The Spartan will face Mariano Tammaro from Italy.

Gabelic will be paired with Nikola Slavic, a former Ole Miss' men's tennis student-athlete, during the men's doubles competition that begins on Friday.

"I feel honored to represent my country and my university in this world event," stated Gabelic. "I'm very excited to see the tennis level at this tournament and I will take this experience with me going into my senior year at UNCG. Go Spartans!"
