Loftin and Chartrand Selected to NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Teams

LOUISVILLE, KY. – Seniors Grace Loftin and Jorde Chartrand of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team received National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors, as announced by the organization on Thursday.

– Seniors Grace Loftin and Jorde Chartrand of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team received National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors, as announced by the organization on Thursday.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced 380 student-athletes from 146 programs have received 2025 NFCA Division I All-Region accolades. In total seven from The Southern Conference (SoCon) earned recognition from the NFCA, including three from Samford, two from UNCG and one each from Western Carolina and Chattanooga. 
 
Loftin was voted to the second team for the second time in her career, while Chartrand received her second honor after being voted to the third team this season. She previously earned second team recognition in 2023.
 
Loftin was most recently named to SoCon All-Conference First Team prior to the 2025 SoCon Tournament. She led the team this season in home runs (14), RBI (53), doubles (13), triples (3), runs scored (46) total bases (121), slugging percentage (.712) and walks (29). She also led the team with 17 multi-hit games and 15 multi-RBI games this season.
 
The Conover, North Carolina, native played in center field for all 57 games this season for the Spartans. Loftin made 91 catches with 81 putouts and seven assists with a .967 fielding percentage. She also helped UNCG turn two double plays.
 
She had career numbers in nine offensive categories this season, including batting average, slugging percentage, at-bats, runs, hits, triples, home runs, total bases and RBI.
 
Among the SoCon, her 14 homers and .718 slugging percentage are second, her 53 RBI and 46 runs are fourth, her 29 walks are fifth, her 13 doubles and 60 hits are sixth and her .353 batting average and .448 on-base percentage are eighth.
Chartrand was also voted to the All-SoCon First Team prior to the start of the tournament. On March 17, she also was named SoCon Pitcher of the Week.
 
The Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, native had 21 starts as a pitcher this season and 36 as the designated player. She had 10 multi-RBI games and 11 multi-hit games this season, which were second and third respectively on the team. At the plate, she had career-best numbers in batting average (.353), on-base percentage (.448), slugging percentage (.618), runs scored (22), hits (48), doubles (9), total bases (84), home runs (9), walks (19) and RBI (36).
 
Among the offensive SoCon numbers, Chartrand is eighth in batting average, ninth in on-base percentage and 11th in home runs and RBI.
 
In the circle, Chatrand threw a total of 135.0 innings and totaled a career-best 2.33 ERA, which led the Spartan pitching staff. She allowed 104 hits, gave up 45 earned runs out of 60 and struck out 90 batters, keeping them to .214 batting average. She had six complete games, one shutout and two combined shutouts for a 10-8 record with four saves. Among the nation, Chartrand's four saves are 23rd, her 5.39 hits allowed per seven innings are 56th and her 2.33 ERA is ranked 70th overall.  
 
Among the SoCon pitching stats, Chartrand is third in opponent batting average, sixth in innings pitched, seventh in strikeouts and wins, 10th in complete games and earned runs.
 
UNCG concluded the 2025 season 39-18 overall. This was the seventh-straight season with 30 or more wins (with the exception of the 2020 shortened season) and 10th time under the direction of Head Coach Janelle Breneman, who has been at the helm for 13 seasons. As a team, the Spartans are currently ranked in the top 50 in home runs (11th/80), home runs per game (17th/1.40), total sacrifice bunts (18th/45), RBI (30th/318), slugging percentage (30th/.527), total sacrifice flies (35th/20), RBI per game (38th/5.58), walks (40th/198), hits (42nd/459), runs (45th/334) and win/loss percentage (47th/.684).
