SoCon Announces Spring All-Conference Team
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After a successful performance in the classroom, 71 UNC Greensboro (UNCG) student-athletes have earned a spot on the Spring 2025 Academic All-Southern Conference (SoCon) Team, the conference announced Wednesday.
A total of 507 SoCon student-athletes in 14 sports earned 602 spots on the Spring 2025 Academic All-Conference Team. The total marks the fourth time in the past five spring semesters that at least 600 student-athletes have been honored.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Conference Team, student-athletes must hold a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or higher after the spring semester, while also competing in at least 50 percent of their teams' competitions during the most recent season.
Samford led the way this spring with 88 Academic All-SoCon selections. Wofford was a close second with 83 student-athletes on the team, and UNCG followed in third with 72 honorees. Six of the conference's 10 full members had at least 50 student-athletes earn a spot on the team.
The Spring Academic All-Conference Team had 30 student-athletes with a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA. Samford led that group with six, followed by Chattanooga (5), Furman (4) and UNCG (4).
The 602 selections are the fourth-most in the history of the Spring Academic All-Conference Team.
