Royalty Claims Second Place at App State Intercollegiate

LENOIR, N.C. – Four Spartans of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team concluded the second and final round of the App State Intercollegiate on Sunday at Cedar Rock Country Club in Lenoir, North Carolina.

LENOIR, N.C. – Four Spartans from the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team concluded the second and final round of the App State Intercollegiate on Sunday at Cedar Rock Country Club in Lenoir, North Carolina.

THE LEADERBOARD

  • Keenan Royalty finished on top for the Spartans and second overall with a two-over-par (146) with rounds of 72-74.
  • Liam Percy came just behind Royalty to place tied for third with a three-over-par (147). Percy shot an even par (72) on Saturday and a three-over-par (75) on Sunday.
  • Will Guidry also finished in the top 10 of the 29 player leaderboard to earn a sixth-place finish with a four-over-par (148) behind back-to-back rounds of two-over-par (74).
  • Andrew Graham climbed up five positions after being in 18th place on Saturday to finish in 13th place with an 11-over-par (155). Graham carded a seven-over-par (79) on Saturday before recording a four-over-par (76) in Sunday's final round.
  • Dalton Payne of The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Western Carolina finished atop the leaderboard with a one-over-par (145) after notching the best round score of the tournament on Sunday with a two-under-par (70).
  • Royalty paced the Spartans with eight birdies over the two rounds.
  • Guidry and Percy both notched one eagle apiece in Sunday's final round.

UP NEXT
The App State Intercollegiate concludes the 2024 fall slate for the Spartans. UNCG returns to action in 2025 by hosting the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate from Feb. 9-11 in Humacao, Puerto Rico, at Palmas Del Mar Flamboyan.
