Men’s Golf Concludes Individual Competition at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Four Spartans from the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team concluded individual competition in the Irish Creek Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Irish Creek Golf Course in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Four Spartans from the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team concluded individual competition in the Irish Creek Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Irish Creek Golf Course in Kannapolis, North Carolina. 
 
Due to inclement weather, the Irish Creek Intercollegiate was shortened to two rounds with one round on Monday and the second and final round on Tuesday.

THE LEADERBOARD

  • Will Guidry finished on top for the Spartans in a tie for 28th place with a six-over-par (146). Guidry carded rounds of 72-74 in the two-day tournament.
  • Keenan Royalty moved up 20 positions from the first round to finish tied for 37th place with an eight-over-par (148). The sophomore posted a seven-over-par (77) on Monday before coming back to the field on Tuesday to notch a one-over-par (71).
  • Royalty's 71 score was the best round score in the tournament from the four Spartans competing. 
  • Andrew Graham moved up 17 positions from round one to complete the tournament in a tie for 64th place with a 12-over-par (152) behind rounds of 79-73.
  • Liam Percy rounded out the scorecard for the Spartans to finish tied for 92nd place with a 21-over-par (161).
  • Vinny Cervantes of Marquette and Layne Lambert of Charleston Southern finished the tournament tied for first place with an overall score of four-under-par (136).
  • Marquette finished atop the team leaderboard with a five-under-par (555).

UP NEXT
The team will close out the 2024-25 regular season with the Stitch Intercollegiate, hosted by N.C. State on Friday and Saturday at Loonie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Spartans will then turn their attention to The Southern Conference (SoCon) Tournament held from April 20-22 in Greensboro, Georgia, at Reynolds Plantation.
