Lewis Claims First Place at Longleaf Pine Amateur

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – Freshman Jake Lewis of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team claimed first place at the Longleaf Pine Amateur on Thursday after carding a nine-under-par (206) with rounds of 69-67-70 at the event in Southern Pines, North Carolina.

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – Freshman Jake Lewis of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team claimed first place at the Longleaf Pine Amateur on Thursday after carding a nine-under-par (206) with rounds of 69-67-70 at the event in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
 
Lewis recorded two eagles and 15 birdies over the three rounds.
 
Keenan Royalty finished just behind Lewis at the tournament to snag fifth place with a four-under-par (211) behind rounds of 68-70-73. The sophomore posted a total of 17 birdies in the event.
 
Liam Percy also made the cut into the final round to finish in a tie for 54th place with a 17-over-par (232). Percy notched rounds of 78-74-80 across the three-day event.
 
Andrew Graham and Will Guidry also competed at the event, concluding play after two rounds. Graham secured an 11-over-par (154) and Guidry followed closely behind with a 13-over-par (156).
 
About the Longleaf Pine Amateur
The Longleaf Pine Amateur is a featured 54-hole amateur with 144 players competing on two of the best courses in the NC Sandhills: Mid Pines Golf Course and Pine Needles Golf Course. The field is reduced to low 50 scores and ties after round two. Players must be at least 16 years of age to compete.
