Dutton Concludes Day One of NCAA Regionals

AMHERST, Va. – Colin Dutton of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team concluded the first day of the NCAA Amherst Regional on Sunday in Amherst, Viriginia, at Poplar Grove Golf Course.

Previously slated for one round each day, the NCAA Amherst Regional began on Sunday due to potential weather. Dutton will conclude the first round on Monday starting at 7:30 a.m.
 
Dutton stands in a tie for 38th place thru 16 holes in round one. He got the NCAA Regionals started with a birdie on hole one Sunday, leading to a one-over-par (36) on the front nine. The Foxfire, North Carolina, native was set back with four bogeys on the day but was able to notch his second birdie of the round thus far on hole 12. Dutton carded a total of 10 pars across the 16 holes to stand with a two-over-par (65).
 
Tennessee is leading the 13-team leaderboard with a nine-over-par (271) after the Volunteers were able to finish the first round. Christian Purdue of Tennessee sits atop the player leaderboard with a four-under-par (66) at the conclusion of Sunday's holes.

UP NEXT
Dutton will conclude the first round of the NCAA Amherst Regional on Monday at 7:30 a.m. in Amherst, Virginia, at Poplar Grove Golf Course. The second round is set to begin on Monday at 10:30 a.m.

The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, held from May 22-27 in Carlsbad, California, at La Costa Resort.
