Men’s Golf Tied for First Through Two Rounds at SoCon Championships

GREENSBORO, Ga. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team is currently tied for first place with ETSU after the completion of round two of The 2025 Southern Conference (SoCon) Championships on Monday at Reynolds Plantation.

GREENSBORO, Ga. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team is currently tied for first place with ETSU after the completion of round two of The 2025 Southern Conference (SoCon) Championships on Monday at Reynolds Plantation.

TEAM

  • UNCG carded a three-under-par (285) in the second round on Monday to have an overall score of 14-under-par (562) after notching an 11-under-par (277) in the opening round on Sunday.
  • ETSU posted a six-under-par (282) on Monday to sit tied for first place with the Spartans with a 14-under-par (562).
  • Western Caolina is in third place with a 10-under-par (566) after carding the best team score of the second round on Monday with a nine-under-par (279).
  • Furman comes just behind to be in fourth place with an eight-under-par (568).
  • Chattanooga rounds out the under-par scores of the team leaderboard to be in fifth place with a three-under-par (573).
  • Samford stands in sixth place with a one-over-par (577), while Wofford is currently in seventh place with a four-over-par (580).
  • Mercer rounds out the team leaderboard to sit in eighth place behind a five-over-par (581).
  • UNCG is pacing the stats sheets in par fours (4.03), birdies (42) and eagles (2).
  • The Spartans are tied for third in par threes (3.02) and tied for second in par fives (4.60).

INDIVIDUAL

  • Colin Dutton stands alone in first place of the player leaderboard after matching his career-best and achieving a new UNCG-best round score of six-under-par (66) in round two Monday.
  • Dutton posted a three-under-par (69) on Sunday to have an overall score of nine-under-par (135) through two rounds.
  • Jack Marcotte and Jake Lewis sit in a tie for seventh place with a three-under-par (141).
  • Marcotte notched a two-under-par (70) on Sunday and a one-under-par (71) on Monday.
  • Lewis was able to shoot a four-under-par (68) in round one and posted a one-over-par (73) in the second round.
  • Kelvin Hernandez sits tied for 22nd place with a one-over-par (145) after shooting rounds of 70-75 through two days.
  • B.J. Boyce rounds out the scorecard for the Spartans to be in a tie for 27th place with a two-over-par (146) after carding rounds of 70-76.
  • Dutton is leading all players with a 2.63 par threes average and 12 birdies, while being tied for first with a 3.85 par fours average.
  • Marcotte is the only player in the field to have two eagles. He has carded one each in the first and second rounds on holes 10 and seven.
