UNCG Athletics Announces Next Hall of Fame Class
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) athletics department announced the next class of inductees, which includes one student-athlete, one coach and a team into the Athletics Hall of Fame in mid-October.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) athletics department announced the next class of inductees, which includes one student-athlete, one coach and a team into the Athletics Hall of Fame in mid-October.
This year's class includes:
- Orcun Seyrek '12, a four-year standout member of the men's tennis program that earned Southern Conference (SoCon) Player of the Year honors twice, SoCon Freshman of the Year recognition and seven SoCon First Team awards guiding the 2010 squad to the program's first SoCon Tournament Championship.
- Terrance Stewart, current men's golf head coach, who is entering his 25th season at the helm, has coached 51 All-Conference & All-Freshman performers, has led the program to two team SoCon Championships and three individual titles, has secured nine NCAA Regional appearances as either a team or an individual and the first NCAA Division Championship appearance in 2024 by Kelvin Hernandez.
- 1989 Men's Soccer Team, coached by UNCG Athletics Hall of Famer Michael Parker, was the NCAA Division II Runner-Up, falling to New Hampshire College, 3-1, in the final at home, and concluded the season with a 19-4-1 record, which is the fourth-most wins in a season in program history. In the second of three years at the Division II level, the team scored the second most goals in a season (92).
The class will be inducted on October 18, 2025, during a brunch ceremony held in Cone Ballroom on the UNCG campus. More information to come.
