UNCG Men's Tennis Travels to Elon Invitational
ELON, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team wrapped up its first weekend of the 2025 fall season after traveling to the Elon Invitational on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
Doubles duo Sammy Presser and Alan Trbonja led the squad with two doubles victories over the first two days, making it to the final round on Sunday.
Friday (Sept. 12)
Singles
Hector Nissen (UNCG) lost to Alonso Roca (Elon), 5-7, 5-7.
Sammy Presser (UNCG) lost to Adi Dagan (Campbell), 5-7, 1-6.
William Elmers (UNCG) lost to Junghee You (Columbia), 6-1, 3-6, 4-6.
Alan Trbonja (UNCG) lost to Ethan Richardson (Campbell), 0-6, 0-6.
Doubles
Nissen and Elmers (UNCG) defeated Nichloas Snyder and Landon Ecarma (Furman), 6-3.
Presser and Trbonja (UNCG) defeated Charlie Burdell and Nathan Germino (Richmond), 7-5.
Nissen and Elmers (UNCG) lost to James Sim and Arenui Luethi (ETSU), 0-6.
Presser and Trbonja (UNCG) defeated Nicholas Dispas and Alex Han (Furman), 7-6, 7-2
Saturday (Sept. 13)
Singles
Nissen (UNCG) lost to Sim (ETSU), 6-3, 6-1
Elmers (UNCG) defeated Julias Augunas (South Carolina State), 6-3, 6-4
Elmers (UNCG) lost to Germino (Richmond), 4-6, 7-5, 10-6
Trbonja (UNCG) lost to Rivers Cahill (Coastal Carolina), 2-6, 2-6
Trbonja (UNCG) lost to Ecarma (Furman), 3-6, 3-6
Sunday (Sept. 14)
Doubles
Presser and Trbonja (UNCG) lost to Sim and Luethi (ETSU), 1-6
Nissen and Elmers (UNCG) defeated Dispas and Han (Furman), 7-6, 7-5
