GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team will host Furman on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 6:00 p.m. and Wofford on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 2:00 p.m. in Fleming Gymnasium.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
- The Spartans claimed two road wins last week after defeating Chattanooga, 58-50, in McKenzie Arena on Thursday and ETSU, 61-56 in overtime in Freedom Hall on Saturday.
- Four Spartans tallied double-figures in the team's win over ETSU. Nya Smith led the Spartans with 18 points. Jayde Gamble followed closely behind with 16 points. Khalis Cain and Makiah Asidanya chipped in for 14 and 10 points, respectively.
- Cain posted her sixth double-double of the season and 21st of her career with her 14 points and leading with a career-best 18 rebounds.
- Cain's 18 rebounds marked her eighth game this season with double-digit boards.
- Cain also led the team with four blocks.
- Smith added a career-high seven boards.
- UNCG outrebounded ETSU, 42-36.
- The Spartans bested the Bucs in second chance points (13-7), fast break points (8-2) and bench points (10-3).

- UNCG is 17-6 overall and 8-1 in the SoCon, sitting at first place in the conference standings.
- UNCG is off to its best start in SoCon play since the 2001-02 season. That team started off conference action 11-1 and finished the regular season 14-4.
- The Spartans are undefeated at home with an 11-0 mark in Fleming Gym.

- Gamble paces the team with 291 points, 111 field goals, 64 assists and 54 steals.
- Jaila Lee paces the squad at the charity stripe with 62 made free throws and a 72.9 free throw percentage.
- Smith stands out from behind the arc with 39 three-pointers.
- Cain earned her second SoCon Player of the Week of her career (Jan.28) after registering a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a 66-58 win over Western Carolina (Jan.25).
- Smith was named the SoCon Player of the Week (Dec. 24) after leading the Spartans with 19 points and five boards at Wake Forest (Dec. 20).
- After leading the team's game against Carolina University with 10 rebounds, Cain surpassed 1,000 rebounds in her collegiate career. She is the third player in program history to reach the 1,000 career rebounds milestone and leads the Division I era in total rebounds.
- Cain is the all-time leading blocker in UNCG program history with 178 in her career.
- Gamble tallied her 1,000th career point at the free throw line at 1:29 in the fourth quarter in the team's game against ETSU on Jan. 9 in Greensboro. 659 of those points came at UNCG, while 341 were achieved in her first two seasons at UNC Wilmington.
- The Spartans went 21-12 overall and 8-6 in league play during the 2023-24 season.
- UNCG appeared in the SoCon Championship for the seventh time in program history last season, falling to Chattanooga, 69-60.
- The 2024-25 roster features 10 returners and five newcomers with three transfers and two freshmen.

- The Paladins head to Greensboro with a 13-11 overall record and 3-5 mark in the SoCon.
- Furman currently sits at fifth place in the conference standings.
- The Paladins went 1-1 in Greenville last week after dropping a 68-60 matchup with Chattanooga on Thursday and defeating Wofford, 93-88, in double-overtime on Saturday.
- With Furman's 93-88 double-overtime win over Wofford, UNCG was granted first place in the SoCon standings with an 8-1 mark.
- The 'Dins are pacing the SoCon in assists per game (14.7), rebound margin (6.9) and offensive rebounds per game (14.3).
- The team is in the top 50 nationally in offensive rebounds per game (31st/14.3), rebound margin (32nd/6.9) and rebounds per game (43rd/40.08).
- Sydney Ryan is leading the conference with 141 three-point attempts this season. She paces the team with 46 three-pointers.
- Tate Walters is second in the league with 99 assists.
- Walters is leading the squad with 320 points, 123 field goals, 99 assists and 48 steals.
- Clare Coyle and Kate Johnson stand out defensively with 150 rebounds and 27 blocks, respectively.
- Furman has seen two SoCon Player of the Week honors this season. First, when Ryan earned the feat on Dec. 3 and most recently when Walters received the mention on Jan. 21.
- Furman was selected to finish in a tie for third place with Samford in the 2024-25 SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Johnson, Walters and Jada Session were all selected to the 2024-25 Preseason All-SoCon Team.
- Head Coach Pierre Curtis is in his second season with the Paladins. In his first season last year, Curtis led Furman to a 15-16 overall record and 5-9 finish in conference.
SERIES HISTORY VS FURMAN
UNCG leads in the overall series against Furman at 34-27. The Spartans claimed the previous meeting against the Paladins earlier this season in a 64-54 victory in Greenville, South Carolina, on Saturday, Jan. 18.
SCOUTING WOFFORD
- The Terriers currently sit just behind UNCG for second place in the SoCon standings with a 6-2 conference record and are 14-7 overall.
- Wofford has lost its last two games for its only conference losses this season. First, against ETSU, 60-53, on Feb. 1 and most recently at Furman in double-overtime, 93-88, on Feb. 8.
- Wofford is leading the SoCon in assist/turnover ratio (0.91), field goal percentage defense (35.8), defensive rebounds per game (27.0), rebounds per game (40.43), three-point attempts per game (25.2), three-point percentage defense (25.2) and three-pointers per game (7.6).
- The Terriers are in the top 50 nationally in three-point percentage defense (8th/25.2), field goal percentage defense (16th/35.8), three-point attempts per game (30th/25.2) and rebounds per game (35th/40.43).
- Evangelia Paulk is leading the SoCon with 67 steals and a 3.19 steals per game average.
- She is second in the league with an 8.3 rebounds per game average.
- Paulk leads the team with 260 points, 92 field goals, 31 three-pointers, 175 rebounds and 67 steals.
- Moly Masingale paces the squad with 50 assists.
- Mia Flor stands out with 11 blocked shots.
- Paulk has been named SoCon Player of the Week on two occasions this season (Jan. 14 & Feb. 11).
- Wofford was tabbed as the preseason favorite to win the SoCon women's basketball title for the 2024-25 season.
- Rachel Rose was named SoCon Preseason Player of the Year, while Rose and Matthews were both selected to SoCon Preseason All-Conference Team.
- Head Coach Jimmy Garrity is in his ninth season at the helm of the Terriers. He led the team to a 17-13 overall record and 8-6 mark in conference play last season.
- Wofford will take on Western Carolina on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in Cullowhee before heading to Greensboro.
SERIES HISTORY VS WOFFORD
The Spartans are 40-22 in the overall series against the Terriers. Wofford handed UNCG its only conference loss so far this season in a 62-39 defeat on Thursday, Jan. 16 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
