HOW IT HAPPENED
Nia Howard gained the first bucket of the game after drawing a foul and going 1-for-2 at the free throw line, 1-0. Wofford's Maddie Heiss responded with a jumper on the other end to put Wofford up 2-1 before Jaila Lee got UNCG back on top with a jumper of her own, 3-2. Wofford came out of the huddle to tally an 11-0 run for the 23-12 advantage. Smith drove down the lane for a layup and drained a half-court shot as the final baskets of the quarter. The Terriers maintained the 12-point advantage going to the locker room, 32-20.
Wofford continued its momentum coming out of the intermission to start the third frame with another 11-0 run.
