Softball Announces 2025 Team Awards
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team and Head Coach Janelle Breneman have announced the 2025 team awards.
The Spartans concluded the 2025 season 39-18 overall and 14-6 in The Southern Conference (SoCon). For the 22nd time in program history, seventh-straight season and 10th time in Coach Breneman's 13 years at the helm, the Spartans won 30 or more games.
The Spartans saw another successful statistical year offensively, leading the SoCon in home runs (80), slugging percentage (.527) and on-base plus slugging (.914). They were also second in at bats (1505), runs scored (334), hits (459), RBI (318), walks (198), batting average (.305) and on-base percentage (.387).
Among the nation, UNCG was ranked 15th in home runs per game (1.40), 16th in home runs, 19th in total sacrifice bunts (45), 29th in slugging percentage, 38th in RBI per game (5.58), 39th in RBI and total sacrifice flies (20), 41st in win-loss percentage (.684), 44th in walks (198), 51st in total runs (334), 52nd in scoring (5.86) and 56th in hits.
These awards are voted on by Spartan softball team members.

Awarded to the player that has made the most impact on the team as a first-year player.

Awarded to the player that displays leadership qualities on and off the playing field. She is selfless, respectful, competitive and inspirational. She makes those around her better.

Most Outstanding Offensive Award
Awarded to the player that has been a consistent force at the plate throughout the season.
Grace Loftin & Kaylyn Belfield
Most Outstanding Defensive Award
Awarded to the player that has been the most solid on defense making the routine plays as well as the outstanding ones.
Jessie Shipley
Most Valuable Pitcher Award
Awarded to the pitcher who has excelled on the mound and has made significant contributions at her position. Her performances have been most valuable to the successes of the team.
Jorde Chartrand
Most Valuable Player Award
Awarded to the player that has made the most significant impact on the success of the team.
Grace Loftin
Scholar Athlete Award
Awarded to the player that maintains the highest GPA for the academic year. The award recognizes self- discipline and the commitment to balancing academics and athletics.
