Women’s Tennis Secures 6-1 Victory Over Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team secured a 6-1 victory over Queens on Sunday afternoon at the Howard Levine Tennis Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team secured a 6-1 victory over Queens on Sunday afternoon at the Howard Levine Tennis Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

"This was a good road win against a team that made us earn it," said Head Coach Mat Iandolo. "Olivia had another great comeback win in singles."

Raegan Mitchell and Sydney Bly secured the 6-2 win over Audrey Serb and Zoe Cvitanovic on court two. Lauren Thomson and Elisabeth Birkevold earned a 6-1 victory over Nyanyuie Tomegah and Jett Coetzee on court three to grant the Spartans the doubles point.
 
UNCG was granted the first singles point in a win by retirement from Cvitanovic for Alexandra Dodashev on court two. Luna Urso dominated in a 6-0, 6-0, win over Tomegah on court six for the 3-0 lead. Mitchell went on to defeat Serb, 6-2, 6-1, on court four to give UNCG the 4-0 advantage. Lauren Thomson then secured a back-and-forth battle with Andrea Onitoui, 7-6 (9-7), 6-2 on court three. The Royals' Coetzee gave the home team their only point of the day after securing a 2-6, 7-5, 10-8 win over Birkevold on court five. Olivia Gallagher gave UNCG its final point of the day in a 4-6, 7-5, 11-9 win over Lucy Hogan on court one for the 6-1 victory.
