UNCG Lays Framework for Strategic Plan

Chancellor Gilliam announced the framework crafted by the Strategic Plan Design Committee to prepare for upcoming feedback sessions and ultimately help UNCG move forward in the best way to continue serving students. The post UNCG Lays Framework for Strategic Plan appeared first on UNC Greensboro.

Colleagues,

During my State of the Campus remarks I outlined several strategies to move us forward – one way is through the refresh of our University strategic plan. Today, I’m pleased to invite you into a conversation about our shared future with the release of this draft plan.

Last April, I charged a 22-member Strategic Plan Advisory Committee to draft a framework for campus discussion and feedback. The committee spent months holding listening sessions and learning about trends impacting higher education and, after significant discussion, prepared a draft reflecting recurring themes and priorities of our community. This living document is offered as a conversation starter to engage campus throughout the Fall 2024 term to chart our collective path forward.

The draft plan includes an introduction, four pillars with 3-6 goals, and examples of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to show how progress on these goals might be measured. I invite feedback on every part of this document.

  • Does it capture who we are?
  • Are these the right goals and effective measurements?
  • Have we provided sufficient direction for our efforts while leaving room for units/departments to find innovative ways to help achieve the goals?
  • How can we further differentiate UNCG from our peers and build a stronger institutional identity?

This fall, advisory committee members will host open campus forums, attend Faculty & Staff Senate meetings, attend unit/department sessions when invited, and accept feedback via an online form. The committee will review feedback throughout the semester, update the plan along the way, and submit a final version to me by the end of the calendar year.

I invite you to review the draft plan along with details for open sessions and feedback options at https://strategicplan.uncg.edu.
