All faculty are welcome.

Burnout and Well-Being at Mid Career: Setting Yourself Up for Success

September 13
Noon – 1:30 p.m.
MHRA Room 1607

Burnout is an unfortunately common occurrence among faculty at mid-career, especially for women and minoritized faculty who perform more invisible labor and service than others. During this workshop, we’ll discuss what burnout is and how to identify the signs as well as how to take care of yourself through the lenses of compassion and balance.

Lunch will be provided. There is limited seating, so interested faculty can sign up ahead of time.

Burnout, Vitality, and the Agile Approach: Managing mental health and workload

September 13
3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Sullivan Science Building Room 201

For many faculty and graduate students, overwhelming workload and number of responsibilities can have a negative impact on mental health and general well-being. In this workshop and discussion, we’ll talk about two ends of the workplace well-being spectrum – burnout and vitality – and discuss how strategic approaches known as Agile in software development can be applied to help support workload management and mental health.
