Interest Meetings Explain Spartans Give Opportunities

Spartans Give is UNCG's official crowdfunding platform for student groups, faculty, staff, and UNCG affiliated partners to raise funds for projects, events, equipment, and other needs. Advancement is hosting several meetings to share details about the application process, participation requirements, and how to get involved. The post Interest Meetings Explain Spartans Give Opportunities appeared first on UNC Greensboro.

Spartans Give is a social fundraising platform for the UNCG community — students, faculty, staff, and parents — to come together to support projects and goals that are most meaningful to them. From faculty-led research to study abroad programs to campus group projects, Spartans Give offers many ways for the Spartan community to support one another. Learn more about the application process and explore current Spartans Give projects below.

Note: All interested 2025-26 applicants will be required to attend one interest meeting before submitting an official application. The next interest meetings will take place:

  • Tuesday, August 19 @ 10:00am
  • Monday, August 25 @ 11:00am
  • Thursday, August 28 @ 10:00am

Please feel free to email Arjanai Miller at admille7@uncg.edu to set up a consultation if that timeframe does not work for you.

The application window for the 2025-26 academic year projects closes on September 5.

All Spartans Give project applications are reviewed and decided on by the Spartans Give Campus Council. This cross-campus group of staff represents a diverse assortment of interests and groups across UNCG, ensuring each application receives a fair, equitable overview. While we encourage Spartans Give project teams to set acheivable goals, not every project will hit 100% of that support. But no fear: any money raised during a Spartans Give campaign will still go towards the campaign’s designated fund.

Several types of funding make up the revenue model of public universities. These sources include state appropriations, student tuition and fees, private gifts, grants, and corporate and foundation partnerships. Philanthropic giving is vital to the sustainability and success of state universities like UNCG.
