This signature all-majors recruiting event is designed to connect UNCG students and alumni with world class employers offering full-time, internship and graduate opportunities. This event is an opportunity to explore career options with a diverse set of employers and/or network with companies at which you are interested in interning or working for full-time. In addition, a number of graduate schools will be in attendance to talk to students about their programs. No matter your reason for attending, professional attire is encouraged. Please come prepared with multiple copies of your resume to provide to employers. First impressions are important, and you never know what connections you will make! A free shuttle to the fair is provided and will run from 12-4:00pm. Pick-up/drop-off is Stirling St. in front of the EUC across from the Walker deck and the Kaplan Center entrance on McCormick St.

Spartan Connect Events | Badin Lake NC
Calm water, warm sun, and good times, what more could you ask for? This classic trip takes us to the beautiful Philpott Lake in North Carolina for a relaxing day of kayaking. We will teach you all the paddling strokes you need and help you get comfortable on the water before we make our way to a picnic area for a water-side lunch. After enjoying a well-deserved rest, we will hop back into our boats and take the long way back to the van of our journey home.
Trip Cost: $25.00 Cost Includes: Transportation, equipment, instruction, meals You must register in Outdoor Adventures at the Kaplan Center by Wednesday, September 30th

YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THIS TRIP AT OUTDOOR ADVENTURES TO BE ABLE TO ATTEND.  Nestled just off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Blowing Rock, the Boone Fork Trail offers one of the High Country’s most scenic and refreshing hikes. This beautiful loop winds through lush forests, open meadows, boardwalks, and creek crossings before reaching the stunning Hebron Falls area, where cascading water and natural pools create perfect spots to cool off and relax. With numerous swimming and wading opportunities along Boone Fork Creek, this trail is ideal for a fall adventure combining hiking, waterfalls, and mountain scenery along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Spartan Connect Events | Organ Hall, UNCG School of Music
Virginia Layden “Ginna” Tucker of Hertford, NC, was a North Carolina College for Women (NCCW, now UNC Greensboroi) graduate whose pioneering work in aeronautics and mechanical engineering paved a path for women in STEM fields. Through her work for the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA, now NASA) to her research at Northrop Aviation Corporation to her involvement with the Society of Women Engineers, Tucker used her NCCW education to become a trailblazer in aviation research. Thanks to research conducted by Meredith College history students, Tucker (Class of 1930) will be honored with a roadside marker through the North Carolina Highway Historical Marker program. Professor of History Dan Fountain’s Spring 2025 “Meredith College History” class worked with Professor of History Angela Robbins and UNCG University Archivist Erin Lawrimore to develop the proposal. The marker will be placed on Market Street near the UNCG campus entrance.
On Monday, October 5 at 10am, a dedication ceremony will take place at the School of Music Building’s Organ Hall (100 McIver Street). The event will feature a talk about Tucker’s life and work as well as recognition of the students whose work helped make the marker possible. A reception will be held in the Organ Hall Atrium, where visitors can see an historical exhibit of material related to Tucker as well as other UNCG women in the science, technology, and mathematics fields.
