Four From Men’s Tennis Earn CSC Academic All-District® Recognition
CSC Announces Academic All-District Awards
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Tymofiy Khrystyuk, Devon Moskowitz, John Gabelic and David Flisberg of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team.
To be eligible, nominated student-athletes must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and need to be in the lineup for 70% of matches that include team scores.
From The Southern Conference (SoCon) four from Furman, three from Wofford, four from Mercer, and four from Chattanooga were also named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team.
These four All-District honors marks the first recognition for these student-athletes and for UNCG men's tennis as the program was added in the 2022-23 season. It was previously part of the at-large program.
After the completion of his sophomore year, Khrystyuk stands out with a 3.73 GPA, majoring in pre-finance. Khrystyuk was tabbed to the 2024 All-SoCon First Team after his performance this season. The Poltava, Ukraine native, finished the season with a 9-10 overall singles record and 7-12 in doubles. Two of Khrystyuk's conference wins this season put UNCG on the board in the match, keeping the opposing team from clinching.
Majoring in computer science, Moskowitz just completed his sophomore year with a 3.80 cumulative GPA. Moskowitz completed the season with a 7-9 overall record and 1-2 in doubles.
Gabelic is majoring in pre-business administration and has earned a 3.79 GPA. Gabelic was named the SoCon Player of the Week on Feb. 20 after earning a dominating 6-2, 6-3 win over College of Charleston. The Sweden native, finished the season by pacing the Spartans with a 9-12 overall record in singles and doubles.
Flisberg stands out in the classroom with a 3.94 GPA and graduated this year with a degree in business administration. Flisberg capped out the 2024 season with a 6-14 overall singles record and second on the team with a 7-13 doubles record.
The Spartans wrapped up the season with a 6-16 overall record and 0-7 in the conference.
