Gallagher and Babkova Earn CSC Academic All-District® Recognition
CSC Announces Academic All-District Awards
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Olivia Gallagher and Arina Babkova of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team.
To be eligible, nominated student-athletes must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and need to be in the lineup for 70% of matches that include team scores.
From The Southern Conference (SoCon) four from Furman, three from Chattanooga, three from Wofford and two from Mercer also made the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team.
Gallagher and Babkova's All-District honors marks the first recognition for the two and for UNCG women's tennis as the program was added in the 2022-23 season. It was previously part of the at-large program.
Gallagher stands at a 3.77 cumulative GPA and is majoring in nursing. The junior finished the 2024 season with a 6-11 overall record in singles and 3-10 in doubles play.
Babkova stands out in the classroom with a 3.70 GPA, majoring in economics. The Dubna, Russia native, finished the season 5-11 overall in singles and 3-10 in doubles.
The Spartans concluded the season with a 3-19 overall record and 1-6 in the SoCon.
