Join the Office of Leadership & Civic Engagement on Tuesday, September 17th from 10am-2pm at the Moran Commons Fountain rain location in EUC Commons for a fun way to prepare for the upcoming election. We can help you make your plan to vote, check your registration or register you for the first time, and get you ready for what you'll see on the ballot. The first 150 students to visit our info table get a ticket for free Ben & Jerry's ice cream! We will have voting info, games, voting guides, music, a photo booth, and more. September 17th is National Voter Registration Day, Constitution Day, and Citizenship Day! Celebrate these civic holidays with OLCE, our student Democracy Fellows, and our wonderful volunteers. Sheryl Oring’s I Wish to Say National Tour, invites Students and the Public to Speak Out and write a letter to the next president. Artist uses manual typewriter to collect postcards for the next U.S. President. Oring, dresses as a 1960s secretary, creates a public office where she types participants' messages verbatim onto postcards. Each original is sent to the White House, while a carbon copy is preserved for her archive. Write your postcard in English, Spanish or any language and enjoy refreshments.
