When considering health, we often think only in terms of physical and mental health; however true wellness is much broader. A holistic approach to wellness supports the whole person and encompasses eight dimensions. Each dimension contributes to optimal health and well-being, including physical, emotional, social, intellectual, career, cultural, environmental, and financial wellness. This presentation will explore the eight dimensions of wellness, provide an opportunity for you to examine your relationship with each dimension, and discover new ways to support your health and wellness.

Staff from across the museum will be available to chat with visitors in the Making Connections: Art, Place, and Relationships exhibition from 12 to 1 pm on Fridays from September 20 to November 22. These informal conversations are a touchpoint to chat about the exhibition itself, a specific work of art, or interesting details of the curation and installation processes. There’s no set agenda, and we invite your own perspectives.

Spartan Connect Events | SHS Counseling & Psychological Services 2nd Floor

Do you feel like you have lost control in your life?  Are you engaging in risky behaviors? Are you numbing the pain with alcohol and/or substances?  This group is for students who want to establish healthy coping strategies. Each session will focus on a specific strategy to help you cope with trauma and substance use. Students will have opportunities to engage in mindfulness techniques, creating a secure space, skills in setting boundaries, or ways to empower yourself through vulnerability. Note: this is group is intended to learn about coping mechanisms but is not to process or delve into the disturbing trauma or addiction memories.  Drop-ins are welcome!
