Men’s Cross Country Takes 14th Place at Panorama Farms Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's cross country finished 14th out of 18 teams at the Panorama Farms Invitational, hosted by Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday morning.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's cross country finished 14th out of 18 teams at the Panorama Farms Invitational, hosted by Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday morning.  
Wake Forest took the team title with 38 points, while host Virginia was the runner-up with 47 points and Virginia Tech rounded out the top three teams with 62 points. The Spartans totaled 403 points overall. The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe VMI finished 18th with 520 points.
 
Sophomore Khalid Abdullahi was the first Spartan to cross the finish line. He placed 111th out of 197 competitors in the eight-kilometer race with a time of 25:19.7.
 
Senior Colin Keck followed Abdullahi in 114th, clocking in a time of 25:21.0, while junior Luke Ward ran the race in 25:26.8 placing 121st overall. Senior Ethan Long (133rd place) and freshman Logan Ruffner (135th place) finished seven seconds apart, running times of 25:40.6 and 25:47.0, respectively.
 
Senior Andrew Hamilton finished in the top 150 competitors, taking home 143rd place and a time of 25:53.1.
 
Junior Evan Pena (161st/26:26.8), freshman Pierson Guerrant (168th/26:35.4), sophomore Tyler Niloff (175th/27:09.9) and sophomore Judah Weesner (185th/27:59.3) rounded out the Spartan competitors.

UP NEXT

Both the men and women will now prepare for The 2024 SoCon Cross Country Championships. The Championships will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, at Furman Golf Course. The women's five-kilometer race will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the men's eight-kilometer race will follow at 10:45 a.m.
