Men’s Tennis to Host Spartan Fall Invitational
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team prepares to host the Spartan Fall Invitational at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday at the UNCG Tennis Courts.

LAST TIME OUT
Competing in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Carolina Regional Championships, junior Tymofiy Khrystyuk picked up a win in the first round of the main singles draw on Oct 11.
Junior John Gabelic competed in one match of singles qualifying on Oct. 10 before Khrystyuk competed in a pair of singles matches and one doubles match alongside junior Luke Thomson on Oct. 11.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
EMORY – The Eagles concluded the 2023-24 season with an 18-6 mark overall and 2-1 record competing in the University Athletic Association.
The Eagles had four student-athletes in Efe Comu, John Lasanajak, Ruilin Feng and Christian Liew all play their third and final matches while competing in the ITA Cup in Mount Berry, Georgia, last weekend. Junior Dean Kamenev is back on the roster after earning ITA All-American recognition last season.
QUEENS – The Royals finished the 2023-24 campaign with an 11-11 overall record as well as a 3-6 mark in Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) play.
Senior Laurenz Blickwede returns to the roster this season after being named to the All-ASUN Second Team a season ago. He finished the season with a 11-8 record in singles. Blickwede also went 7-7 at the top court and finished 4-4 in conference play. In doubles play, he recorded a 5-13 overall record. The Spartans faced off with the Royals at the Davidson Fall Invitational from Sept. 27-29 and went 2-1 in doubles and 1-3 in singles.
RADFORD – The Highlanders finished last season at 1-17 overall and 0-4 in the Big South.
The Spartans stormed to a 7-0 win over the Highlanders last spring in Radford, Virginia, before crossing paths again at the Davidson Fall Invitational at the end of last month. UNCG finished 2-2 in singles against Radford at the event.
