Men’s Golf Begins 2025 by Hosting Palmas Del Mar Collegiate
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team returns to action to start 2025 by hosting the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate from Sunday to Tuesday in Humacao, Puerto Rico, at Palmas Del Mar Flamboyan.

THE FORMAT
Each team will play one round each day. Sunday and Monday will be a 7:30 AM EST/8:30 AST shotgun start, while Tuesday will be a 7:00 a.m. EST/8:00 a.m. AST start.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
- UNCG concluded 2024 with individual play at the App State Intercollegiate in Lenoir, North Carolina, at Cedar Rock Country Club from Oct. 19-20.
- Keenan Royalty finished on top for the Spartans and second overall with a two-over-par (146) with rounds of 72-74.
- Liam Percy came just behind Royalty to place tied for third with a three-over-par (147).
- The Spartans wrapped up team play for 2024 by winning the Elon Invitational from Oct. 14-15 in Burlington, North Carolina, at Alamance Country Club.
- UNCG carded a 19-under-par (833) with rounds of 275-280-278 to claim first place out of the 18-team field.
- It marked the second first-place result for the Spartans this season as the team also claimed the top spot at the Bryan National Collegiate on Sept. 10, 2024.
- Kelvin Hernandez finished on top for the Spartans and in a tie for sixth place on the leaderboard behind a six-under-par (207). The sophomore recorded rounds of 72-67-68 at the tournament.
LAST TIME HOSTING THE PALMAS DEL MAR COLLEGIATE
- UNCG claimed second place at last year's Palmas Del Mar Collegiate after earning a final score of 20-under-par (844) over the three-day tournament.
- The Spartans closed out the tournament by carding a one-under-par (287) in the final round on Tuesday.
- UNCG paced all teams by earning a total of 71 birdies and finishing in a three-way tie for first place with a 3.12 average on par threes.
- UNCG had its best score of the tournament in the second round with a 16-under-par (272). This was the best score of all 16 teams in a single round of the event.
- Arkansas claimed first place in the tournament with a 27-under-par (837).
- The Spartans edged Kennesaw State by one stroke as they took home third place with a 19-under-par (845) score.
