Winterfest Mixes Fun and Games with Academic Assistance

Winterfest helps students get the new year off right with competitive games, cozy movie nights, service opportunities, and workshops for planning a successful semester. The post Winterfest Mixes Fun and Games with Academic Assistance appeared first on UNC Greensboro.

It’s not easy to get back into the grind after the winter break, especially while frost covers the paths to early morning classes. But students at UNC Greensboro can look forward to more than a new class schedule. Two weeks of games and activities at UNCG Winterfest generate more than enough fun to go around. If a competitive crowd gets your blood pumping, then join a game of laser tag. If you prefer relaxing inside with a movie, then enjoy a show at the EUC.

And for those whose resolutions are focused on academics, UNCG Winterfest sprinkles in events for fine-tuning class schedules.

Winterfest includes one of UNCG’s proudest traditions: MLK Day of Service. On the Saturday before Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, students meet at the EUC to form small groups tasked with volunteer work in the community. Service projects include efforts to beautify Greensboro, serve local organizations that support marginalized groups, or prepare students within Guilford County Public Schools.
