This building, designed by Epps & Hackett of Greensboro, North Carolina, was opened in 1892. Two flanking wings were added in 1895. From 1892 to 1908, the building was called Main Building and from 1908 to 1960 it was called Administration Building. On February 22, 1960, the building was named in honor of Julius Isaac Foust, president of College from 1906 to 1934. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
Foust Building
One of the last remaining original buildings on campus
The beautiful building facing the park is the Julius Foust building, the oldest building on campus and actually one of the only buildings remaining from the original campus. Students like to call it the Hogwarts building because it looks like it belongs in a Harry Potter movie. It is now home to the International Programs Center (IPC), the Study Abroad Program, and College of Arts and Sciences.

Back when UNCG was an all women’s institution, this is where all of the students would sleep, eat, and go to class. Obviously, UNCG has expanded the campus just a little bit, so the Foust building is no longer used as a residence hall.
The IPC is comprised of Study Abroad and Exchanges and International Admissions and Retention, while also housing the Global Engagement Office (responsible for UNCG’s Quality Enhancement Plan). The office also serves as the liaison for the INTERLINK Language Center and is the central administration unit for the UNC International Recruiting Consortium.
UNCG offers study abroad to six out of the seven continents. Students do not go to Antarctica, it's a little too cold.
The International Festival (I-Fest) is an annual celebration that promotes cultural awareness, appreciation and understanding through music, food, crafts, demonstrations and entertainment from all corners of the globe. I-Fest is an event open to the UNCG community and the general public during which anyone can come to experience and learn about the diverse world we live in.
