Four From Men’s Golf Named GCAA All-America Scholars
2024-25 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars Announced
NORMAN, Okla. — B.J. Boyce, Colin Dutton, Kelvin Hernandez and Jack Marcotte of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team have earned a spot on the 2024-25 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-America Scholars list, the organization announced Tuesday.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
A total of 556 NCAA Division I student-athletes from 190 schools earned 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors. College of Charleston, Georgia Southern, Hawai'i, and Mississippi State each had six recipients, tied with Rhodes (NCAA Division III) and Texas Wesleyan (NAIA) for the most recipients from one school across all six divisions in 2024-25.
From The Southern Conference (SoCon) 16 student-athletes were named to the GCAA All-America Scholars list including, four from Furman and UNCG, three from ETSU and Mercer and one each from Chattanooga and Wofford.
UNCG finished in second place in the 2025 SoCon Championships with an overall score of 18-under-par (846) behind rounds of 277-285-284. Dutton finished in a tie for 49th place at the NCAA Amherst Regional after earning the top spot at The 2025 SoCon Championships.
The Spartans carded four first-place finishes this season. UNCG finished first at the Sea Palms Invitational on March 15, 2025, the Dorado Beach Collegiate on Feb. 25, 2025, the Elon Invitational on Oct. 15, 2024, and the Bryan National Collegiate on Sept. 10, 2024. This is the first time in UNCG men's golf program history the team has collected four regular season tournament wins.
