Royalty and Isbell Conclude Competition in 2025 U.S. Amateur Golf Championship

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. – Keenan Royalty and Dax Isbell of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team concluded competition in the 2025 U.S. Amateur Golf Championship on Tuesday in San Franciso, California.

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. – Keenan Royalty and Dax Isbell of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team concluded competition in the 2025 U.S. Amateur Golf Championship on Tuesday in San Franciso, California.

Royalty posted an overall score of 16-over-par (156) after recording a seven-over-par (77) on Monday and a nine-over-par (79) on Tuesday at The Olympic Club Lake Course. The Raleigh, North Carolina, native recorded two birdies and 19 even pars across the two rounds.

Isbell completed two rounds at the Ocean Course, notching a nine-over-par (149) with rounds of 75-74. The Cumming, Georgia, native posted five birdies and 18 even pars in both rounds.

The top 20 players from the first two rounds of the U.S. Amateur Championship will move on to a playoff round on Wednesday.  

This was the second consecutive year that current Spartans have competed in the U.S. Amateur Championship as current junior Kelvin Hernandez participated last year.

Royalty, Isbell and the UNCG men's golf team anticipate the start of the 2025-26 season.
