At 47:56, UNCG was called for a foul inside the box. The Citadel's Elisa Fuentes set up for the penalty kick and sent it left of the post keeping the Spartans on top, 1-0. The Spartans went up 2-0 at 64:28 when Mentzer had her first shot blocked and then used her left foot to put away the rebound. UNCG continued adding to its shot total and at 72:09, Azumi Oka tallied her second goal of the season. Bryanna Parkes entered the 18-yard box and lofted a cross to Oka, who volleyed it to the back of the net giving the Spartans the 3-0 victory.
