UNCG to Celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day of Play
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department and the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) Center for Women's Health and Wellness is set to host the National Girls and Women in Sports Day of Play on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the UNCG Middle College Gymnasium.
The event is open to girls ages 5-16. It will focus on providing instruction in a variety of sports while encouraging active lifestyles, socialization and quality of life with UNCG student-athletes.

Participants 12 and under receive free admission to the UNCG women's basketball game against Samford following the event on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 2:00 p.m. in Fleming Gymnasium.

National Girls & Women in Sports Day began in 1987 as a special day in our nation's capital to recognize women's sports. The day united premiere organizations and elite women athletes to bring national attention to the promise of girls and women in sports.
