McIlvaine Leading Women’s Golf After Two Rounds at National Golf Invitational
MARICOPA, Ariz. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team is alone at eighth on Saturday after playing two rounds in two days at the 2025 National Golf Invitational at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
MARICOPA, Ariz. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team is alone at eighth on Saturday after playing two rounds in two days at the 2025 National Golf Invitational at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
Sophomore Kasey McIlvaine is leading UNCG after shooting a one-over-par (73) in the second round. She is tied for ninth overall at four-over-par (148).
TEAM
- The Spartans are in eighth at 34-over-par (610) after shooting a 300 in round one and 310 in Saturday's second round.
- UNCG is one stroke shy of Rutgers, UNCW and Mercer, who are in a tie for fifth at 33-over-par (609).
- The Spartans are one stroke ahead of ninth-place Seattle.
- UNCG is leading the tournament after two rounds with a six-over-par score on par threes, averaging 3.15 strokes per hole.
- The Spartans are also tied for fourth so far with 96 pars through two rounds.
- Santa Clara took over the top spot on the team leaderboard during the second round and now has a 10-stroke lead at 12-over-par (588).
INDIVIDUAL
- McIlvaine shot a one-over-par (73) on Saturday to jump up into a tie for ninth at four-over-par (148). McIlvaine is tied for first with 13 pars in the tournament. She is leading the tournament with 28 pars and is tied for fourth when competing on par fours with a two-over-par score and 4.10 stroke average.
- Senior Ava Romfo carded a six-over-par (78) on Saturday and is now tied for 11th at five-over-par (149). She is tied for fifth with seven birdies so far.
- Freshman Lulu Leetham is third on the team and tied for 32nd overall at 11-over-par (155) with round scores of 75 and 80. She is tied for third when playing on par threes so far, averaging three strokes per hole for an even score.
- Freshman Sophie Lauture is fourth for the Spartans at 14-over-par (158) after shooting seven-over-par (79) in both rounds so far.
- Junior Julia Baeumken is 20-over-par (164) with rounds of 80-84.
- Eastern Michigan's Angelica Holman remained in the lead throughout the second round. She has a two-stroke lead at one-under-par (143).
