Leetham Leads Women’s Golf After One Round at Golfweek Fall Challenge

The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team sits in a tie for 10th place out of 20 competing schools after one round of action on Sunday at Caledonia Golf Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team sits in a tie for 10th place out of 20 competing schools after one round of action on Sunday at Caledonia Golf Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.  
 
TEAM 

  • UNCG carded a eight-over-par (292) in the first round of play. 

  • As a team, the Spartans recorded 15 birdies and 51 pars on the day. 

  • Charlotte is leading the 20-team leaderboard with an 11-under-par (273) in round one. 

INDIVIDUAL 

  • Lulu Leetham led the Spartans after one round of play, turning in a three-under par (68) after one round of action. Leetham also picked up a hole-in-one on the 11th hole which is her first of her collegiate career. 

  • Elle Burnette carded a two-over par (73) to be tied for 38th place after round one. 

  • Kasey McIlvaine posted a six-over-par (77) on Sunday to stand tied for 78th place. 

  • Julia Baeumken rounds out the scorecard for the Spartans to sit in a tie for 88thplace after recording an eight-over-par (79).

UP NEXT 
The Spartans will continue the Golfweek Fall Challenge on Monday with the second round of play. The second round will begin with a 7:45 a.m. shotgun start at Caledonia Golf Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
