CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Six UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golfers, including recent graduates Grace Holcomb and Ava Romfo, juniors Elle Burnette and Kasey McIlvaine and rising sophomores Sophie Lauture and Lulu Leetham were named to the 2024-25 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, the association announced Monday.

Holcomb has now received the recognition four times in her career, while Burnette and McIlvaine were honored for a second time.

A total of 1,499 women's collegiate golfers from 403 programs were recognized with the honor. To be selected, student-athletes must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.

UNCG finished fifth or better in nine of its 12 total events this season. The Spartans won their first tournament since the 2011-12 season after placing first in the Puerto Rico Shootout in Humacao, Puerto Rico, on March 6. The Spartans also earned a runner-up finish hosting the UNCG Collegiate from Oct. 21-22, which saw Romfo win the individual title.

The Spartans finished in fourth place at the 2025 The Southern Conference (SoCon) Championship at Solina Golf Club in West Columbia, South Carolina. The fourth-place finish was the best in a conference tournament for the program since the 2013 SoCon Championship, when UNCG finished third with a final score of 903.

UNCG then earned a spot and placed fourth in the Golfweek National Golf Invitational, a postseason tournament held at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club from May 9-11 in Maricopa, Arizona.

From the SoCon, 18 student-athletes appeared on the women's team, including four from Furman, four from Wofford, three from Western Carolina and one from Mercer.
