Women’s Golf Concludes Round Two at Golfweek Fall Challenge

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team still sits in a tie for 10th place out of 20 competing schools after round two on Monday at Caledonia Golf Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team still sits in a tie for 10th place out of 20 competing schools after round two on Monday at Caledonia Golf Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.  
 
TEAM 

  • UNCG carded a nine-over-par (293) in the second round of play and have an overall score of 17-over par (585). 

  • As a team, the Spartans recorded eight birdies and 62 pars on the day. 

  • Charlotte is leading the leaderboard with a nine-under-par (559) over two rounds. 

INDIVIDUAL 

  • Freshman Chanelle Mwangi led the Spartans today with an even-par (71) performance climbing the ranks to be tied for 21st place.  

  • Lulu Leetham carded a six-over par (77) but is tied with Mwangi for 21st place after round two. 

  • Elle Burnette posted a three-over par (74) to climb three spots and be tied for 35th place after round two. 

  • Sophie Lauture is tied at 43rd place after a three-over par day (74). 

  • Kasey McIlvaine bounced back after a tough round one, climbing 28 spots to be placed tied for 50th after shooting a one-over par (72) for round two. 

  • Julia Baeumken rounds out the scorecard for the Spartans to sit in a tie for 71st place, climbing 17 spots since round one, after recording a two-over-par (73).

UP NEXT 
The Spartans will conclude the Golfweek Fall Challenge on Tuesday as they enter the third round of play. The final round will begin with a 7:45 a.m. start at Caledonia Golf Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
