GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's soccer team dropped a 3-2 contest to the UNC Wilmington (UNCW) Seahawks Sunday night at the UNCG Soccer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Seahawks struck first in the ninth minute of the game when Hailey Longwell sent a through ball to Allie Planeaux. Planeaux then sprinted down field and took on the goalkeeper one-on-one before finding the bottom left of the net for a 1-0 advantage. Longwell took a shot at the top of the box that was initially blocked by a Spartan, but Ayanna Parker collected the rebound and put it back to widen UNCW's lead to 2-0 at 25:03.

The Spartans picked up the momentum in the second half, cutting their deficit to one in the early goings. At the top left of the box, Ryen Ortiz found Ava Kiss in the middle to send the ball straight into the back of the net at 46:18 to make it 2-1. UNCG tied the game at 65:17 when Kiss passed the ball to Rina Ogimoto, who cut back before striking the ball with her right foot into the net tying the game, 2-2. The Seahawks were able to take a 3-2 lead for the final goal of the game after a defensive miscue at 82:06 to secure the win.
