Southern Conference Announces 2025 Softball Tournament Bracket

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team begins its quest in The 2025 Southern Conference (SoCon) Championship, presented by One Spartanburg, as the No. 2 seed in Spartanburg, South Carolina, at Hope Field, hosted by Wofford.

All eight SoCon teams will participate in the Tournament, with seeds 5 and 8 participating in a single-elimination game on Wednesday, May 7, at 10 a.m., and seeds 6 and 7 playing in a single-elimination game later that day at 1 p.m. for the right to advance to the double-elimination portion of the bracket. The championship game will take place Saturday, May 10, at 1 p.m., with a second game, if necessary, to begin 30 minutes after the completion of the first contest.

Chattanooga (39-13, 15-5 SoCon) defeated ETSU on Sunday to claim the top seed for the second straight season. The Mocs leads the league in triples (15), fielding percentage (.976) and strikeouts thrown (406).

UNCG (38-16, 14-6) secured the No. 2 seed with two wins over Western Carolina on Sunday. The Spartans lead the SoCon in runs (324), RBI (308) and home runs (77).

With the No. 2 seed, UNCG earned a bye to Thursday's action at the tournament and will face either No. 3 seed Samford, No. 6 Western Carolina or No. 7 seed ETSU. The Spartans won two of three contests versus the Bulldogs on April 12-13 and the Bucs on April 18-19. UNCG took a pair of games from the Catamounts on Sunday.
