Spartan Connect Events | Hanging Rock NC
Join us as we travel to one of North Carolina’s most beautiful hikes! We will spend our Saturday hiking along to the top of Hanging Rock. We will take a break at the summit in the middle of the day for a delicious lunch with a view! Take some time to venture out and see the beauty in this area. The Hanging Rock Trail brings you to panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and has us climbing about 600ft in under 2 miles, so be prepared for a big hike and bigger views! Other trails in the park bring you to waterfalls and other beautiful views, there’s something for everyone in this park! 9/11 Day is the federally recognized September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, observed annually to honor those we lost—and all who responded—on and after September 11, 2001. Inspired by the remarkable spirit of unity and compassion that swept across the country in the aftermath of the attacks, 9/11 Day transforms a day of tragedy into a day of doing good. Today, it’s the largest annual day of service in the United States, with more than 30 million Americans participating each year through acts of kindness, charity, and volunteerism. Colleges and universities across the country are joining this growing movement—mobilizing students, staff, and faculty to take action, strengthen campus unity, and demonstrate the power of service. This university-wide day of service provides UNCG students with the opportunity to explore various aspects of our community while collaborating with community partners to make a positive impact. Participation is free, but registration is REQUIRED through GivePulse. A student Site Leader will lead volunteer teams. Light breakfast, lunch, and transportation to and from your service site will be provided. Please note: Groups that are participating together must have each member register individually and list the same group name when prompted. Registration will close when capacity is reached.
