This week’s topic: Diasporas and Conflict Presenter: Jeremy Rinker; Associate Professor & Chair, Department of Peace and Conflict Studies Target Audience: Campus and Community Bring your lunch and join us in-person or virtually! The United States is a multi-, or even poly-, cultural society. Diaspora communities increasingly do not assimilate to a shared vision of U.S. culture. This presentation will explore issues of conflict within South Asian diaspora communities in the United States and use data collected on a recent research leave to open discussion about the role of diasporas in conflict. Discussion of Gaza, Ukraine, and other ongoing international conflicts will form the undercurrent of this discussion-based community talk.
