Spartan Connect Events | Outdoor Adventures

YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE FOR THIS TRIP AT OUTDOOR ADVENTURES TO BE ABLE TO ATTEND. 
TRIP COST: $100- includes transportation, equipment, instruction, and food


An Outdoor Adventures classic, this trip takes you on one of the most premier whitewater destinations in Western North Carolina and serves as an introduction to the sport of whitewater kayaking! We begin our trip on Friday afternoon, learning the basics of kayaking in moving water to get you comfortable. On Saturday morning, we will depart for the Tuckasegee, a fun river that runs regularly and is an excellent place to learn to paddle or work on skills. After we finish paddling, we will head back to our campsite for a delicious dinner and some downtime. Sunday morning brings us back to the river where we’ll paddle again before heading back to campus.

Spartan Connect Events | Greensboro, NC
Relax on the water for your Friday afternoon! Join us as we venture out on our paddleboards to Lake Brandt, right here in Greensboro! We will teach you how to paddle and practice our balance on the water while we explore the lake! Spartan Connect Events | Pilot Mountain, NC
This Outdoor Adventures' classic brings us to Pilot Mountain for a day of rock climbing and testing our limits. We will climb a few different routes, moving around the climbing area throughout the day, with a break for lunch alongside the face of the mountain. No outdoor climbing experience is necessary, we will teach you all that you need to know!

Spartan Connect Events | Sent Upon Registration

Catalyst is a program where participants engage in meaningful service and be a spark for change! You and your fellow students will have the opportunity to learn about the social and environmental issues that have an impact on our community, serve alongside community partners in the triad, and reflect on your experiences as a group.
Catalyst Days are open to all UNCG students. Registration will begin on Monday, April 13th, at 10:00 AM through the RSVP button. We have space for 13 participants, and registration is open until spots are filled. Once you complete the registration, your Catalyst Leaders will be in contact you with information about next steps. Goat Yoga: Need we say more? Spend your Sunday at Avery Family Farm as you take a yoga class alongside, or underneath, some goats! These sweet babies just want to practice yoga, too. So, grab a mat (or bring your own) and get ready for the cutest yoga session ever. Resilience  Learn how to stay grounded, confident, and adaptable in the face of stress, change, and uncertainty.  College life is full of challenges: busy schedules, shifting priorities, group projects, leadership responsibilities, and moments when life feels overwhelming. Resilience is a two-hour, in-person workshop designed to help UNCG students build the mindset and practices needed to navigate it all with confidence and clarity. Through hands-on activities and meaningful reflection, participants explore how to strengthen their resilience and contribute to resilient communities around them.  This workshop will be offered twice, and students may attend either session:  March 2, 2026 | 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM | EUC Alexander  April 20, 2026 | 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM | EUC Alexander  Why this matters for students  Resilience is essential for navigating the realities of college life.
