The statue in front of the library is Charles Duncan McIver, the founder of the university. This is actually a replica statue. The original is in downtown Raleigh and it is the only non-military and non-politically affiliated statue there.
The Library consists of nine floors with four group study floors and four quiet study floors.
UNCG assigns a librarian to each academic program to give students the individual help they need with research and related resources. This is where students can rent out computer and camera equipment or get help with media projects like video recording, editing, and graphic design.
When campus is in session, the library is open to UNCG students 24/5. (That means that students can visit the library 24 hours a day Sunday through Thursday, with shorter hours Friday and Saturday.)
