Men’s Basketball Welcomes Seven to Roster
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team and Head Coach Mike Jones will welcome seven new Spartans to the 2024-25 roster.
Ronald Polite III | Graduate | Guard | 6'2" | George Mason
Hometown: Temple Hills, Md.
High School: Oxon Hills
From Jones: "Ron is a pass first point guard who loves getting his teammates the ball where they can be effective. His IQ is one of his best attributes and he uses it effectively on both sides of the ball. His size and ability to shoot make him ideal for our backcourt group. He has been an efficient player his entire career and we are excited about his addition to our team."
Malik Henry | Graduate | Forward | 6'8" | George Mason
Hometown: Longview, Texas
High School: Longview
From Jones: "What I love about Malik's game is his effort every play. Whether he's on offense or defense he's going to give you 100% Spartan effort. That skill of playing hard results in production in transition, at the rim, rebounding and several different defensive stats. His effort is a welcome addition to our style of play."
Kenyon Giles | Junior | Guard | 5'9" | Radford
Hometown: Chesapeake, Va.
High School: Oscar Smith
From Jones: "KG has been scoring the ball seemingly all his life, and we anticipate the same here at the G. He is a capable scorer at all three levels and has the unique ability to make plays for his teammates as well. His level of commitment on the defensive end has been a nice surprise so far, and I believe he will make a nice impact on the team this year."
Clinton Efinda | Sophomore | Forward | 6'5" | Ellsworth Community College
Hometown: Naas, Ireland
High School: Combine Academy
From Jones: "Clint came to our attention late and has been a good addition to the team. His competitive fire and his work ethic stand out as his best qualities. He is wired to score and can do so in a variety of ways. As his playmaking ability and his defense continue to improve daily, he will be an effective player for our program in a variety of ways."
Demetrius Davis | Graduate | Forward | 6'8" | Chattanooga
Hometown: Atlanta, Ga.
High School: McEachern
From Jones: "We saw Demetrius play against us for the past couple years and have always been impressed with his versatility. With his size and athleticism, he effects the game in a lot of ways. His length impacts the game defensively with steals and deflections and being disruptive. On offense, his ability to handle and shoot makes him a matchup nightmare. We are looking forward to seeing his impact on our team."
Isaiah Washington | Freshman | Guard | 6'5"
Hometown: Fayetteville, N.C.
High School: Winston Salem Christian
From Jones: "Isaiah is a talented wing player who made a name for himself in North Carolina high school basketball. He has a very bright future and will get a chance to learn and grow from a group of veteran wings in our program."
Clyde Bailey II | Junior | Guard | 6'1"
Hometown: Virginia Beach, Va.
High School: Cape Henry Collegiate
From Jones: "Clyde has made a great impression on our entire program with his commitment to us every day and his incredible work ethic. He is a class A person who brings a lot of value to what we do every day."
The Spartans will take to the floor on Monday, Nov. 4 hosting Florida Gulf Coast at the First Horizon Coliseum with a 7:00 p.m. start time.
