HOW IT HAPPENED
Wofford got the scoring started when Corey Tripp hit a three-pointer 21 seconds into the game. Demetrius Davis then got UNCG on the board, 3-2, after stealing an errant inbound pass by Wofford before finishing with a dunk on a fastbreak. It was a back-and-forth battle in the early going until the Terriers went on a 15-8 run in the remaining 7:50 of the first half to carry a 35-27 lead into the break.
The Terriers kept it going early in the second half, mounting a 20-4 run out of the intermission, making it 55-31. The Spartans then answered with a 9-0 run to cut it to 55-40, beginning with a three-pointer hit by Polite III with 11:43 left on the clock. UNCG rallied late in the half and cut the deficit to single digits, 70-61, with 1:04 left to play. However, Wofford held on in the final minute to prevail by a final score of 74-62.
