Men’s Golf Remains Atop the Leaderboard at Sea Palms Invitational

SEA ISLAND, Ga. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team remains atop the leaderboard after the completion of round two on Friday at the Sea Palms Invitational at the Sea Palms Resort.

SEA ISLAND, Ga. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team remains atop the leaderboard after the completion of round two on Friday at the Sea Palms Invitational at the Sea Palms Resort.

TEAM

  • UNCG carded a five-under-par (279) in Friday's second round.
  • The Spartans posted a 16-under-par (268) on Thursday to have an overall score of 21-under-par (547) through the two rounds.
  • Villanova stands at second place on the leaderboard with a six-under-par (562) with rounds of 280-282.
  • Host school and The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Western Carolina is tied for 15th place with rounds of 291-294.

INDIVIDUAL

  • Kelvin Hernandez and Jake Lewis are currently tied for first place behind a nine-under-par (133).
  • Hernandez posted rounds of 65-68, while Lewis has notched 63-70 rounds.
  • Jack Marcotte is tied for 10th place with rounds of 69-70.
  • Colin Dutton moved up 22 positions from round one to stand tied for 43rd place. Dutton carded a three-over-par (74) on Thursday before coming out in the second round to post an even-par (71).
  • B.J. Boyce stands tied for 60th place with rounds of 71-76.
  • As an individual competing, Liam Percy notched a two-over-par (73) in the second round. Percy did not compete in the first round.

UP NEXT
The Spartans will conclude the Sea Palms Invitational with round three on Saturday at the Sea Palms Resort. Saturday's final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. from holes one and 10.
