Format: All 30 teams and six individuals will complete 54 holes of stroke play. Following 54 holes of competition, the top 15 teams along with the top nine individuals not on an advancing team will advance for one additional day of stroke play to determine the top eight teams for match-play competition and the 72-hole stroke-play individual champion. The top eight teams after 72 holes of play will be placed into a bracket thereafter.

Rundown on Hernandez:
- The first Spartan to compete in the NCAA Division I Championship in program history.
- Finished in a tie for third place as the top individual not on an advancing team at the NCAA Regionals on Wednesday, May 15 at The University of Texas Golf Club.
- Recorded rounds of 67-72-68 for an overall score of six-under-par (207) at the Austin Regional.
- His first-round score of 67 tied his best career round score, marking his third time carding his best low finish this season.
- Hernandez carded a 72.52 average with 2,103 strokes in 29 rounds of play during the 2023-24 season, including the SoCon Championship.
- The freshman's best finish in the regular season came in a tie for ninth place, which he did on two occasions.

- The Spartans earned the seventh seed to the NCAA Regionals.
- UNCG finished in a tie for seventh place after recording rounds of 288-285-290 for an 11-over-par (863) at the Austin Regional.
- The Spartans finished ahead of Georgia, Arkansas State, Arkansas, Kansas City, San Jose State and Grand Canyon.
- The Spartans' tie for seventh place tied their best finish at the NCAA Regionals as the team also finished in a tie for seventh place during the 2014 season.
- This season, the Spartans won two regular season tournaments in the Bryan National Collegiate and the Dorado Beach Collegiate. In addition, UNCG had eight top-5 and nine top-10 tournament finishes including The Southern Conference (SoCon) Tournament this season.
- This season was the fifth time in the Division I era that a UNCG team has received a bid to an NCAA Regional, while it is the eighth time overall as three individuals have made appearances as well.
- The Spartans had three earn SoCon postseason recognitions. Kelvin Hernandez was named the SoCon Freshman of the Year and to the All-Freshman Team, while Symon Balbin and Randall Hudson were selected to the All-SoCon Team.
