Men’s Soccer Enters United Soccer Coaches Poll at No. 18

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the first time this season, the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team is in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll, earning a No. 18 ranking.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the first time this season, the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team is in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll, earning a No. 18 ranking.
 
With the first installment of the regional polls, UNCG earned a No. 4 ranking in the South Region and is the only non-Atlantic Coast Conference school listed. Clemson took the top ranking, followed by Pittsburgh, and then Syracuse at No. 3.
 
This is the first national ranking for the Spartans since earning a preseason ranking of No. 10 in 2023.
 
Among national statistical categories, UNCG is leading Division I in four categories including in save percentage (1.000), shutout percentage (1.000), team goals against average (0.000) and won-lost-tied percentage (1.000).
 
Throughout The Southern Conference (SoCon), UNCG is ranked first in corner kicks per game (11.50), penalty kicks, save percentage, shutout percentage, team goals against average and won-lost-tied percentage.
 
The Spartans are in the top 30 in three categories, including second in the nation in corner kicks per game, 12th in goal differential (4) and 29th in total goals (4).
 
UNCG is rolling with a 2-0 start, taking both contests in shutout fashion at home. The Spartans opened the 2024 slate with a 3-0 victory over USC Upstate seeing two goals from Enzo Dovlo and one from Mikey Ketteman. Dovlo then recorded his third tally of the season in game two, securing a 1-0 win over Coastal Carolina.
