Men’s Tennis Drops Road Dual at Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team dropped a non-conference dual on the road to the Davidson Wildcats, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Davidson Tennis Courts.

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team dropped a non-conference dual on the road to the Davidson Wildcats, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Davidson Tennis Courts.
 
The Wildcats got off to a hot start by earning the doubles point with back-to-back victories. Davide Procacci and Nikhil Mukherjee teamed up to win the first doubles, 6-3, over UNCG's Andrew Black and Devon Moskowitz. Davidson then secured the point with Juan Camilo Perez Gongora and Uddayvir Singh winning, 6-3, over Luke Thomson and William Elmers.

Davidson then rattled off five-straight singles victories to reach its total of six points in the matchup. The Wildcats made the dual 2-0 when Gregorio Hidalgo defeated Thomson, 6-1, 7-5. Singh then took down Tymofiy Khrystyuk, 6-4, 6-3, to make it 3-0 Wildcats. Procacci earned the fourth consecutive point with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Devon Moskowitz. Nico Pinzon then upended Elmers, 7-5, 1-6, 1-0 (7), to make it 5-0. The Wildcats secured their final point with Perez defeating John Gabelic, 6-3, 7-6 (3), to make it 6-0. UNCG's only point came at the conclusion of the dual with Black taking down Sebastian Carpio Moran in three sets, 1-6, 7-5, 1-0 (6).
