Men’s Tennis Cruises to 5-2 Victory Hosting Campbell

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team won 5-2 over the Campbell Camels in a non-conference dual on Wednesday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Courts.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team won 5-2 over the Campbell Camels in a non-conference dual on Wednesday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Courts.

The Spartans captured the first point of the day by winning the last two of the three doubles matches. After Campbell's Andrew Fragasso and Luke Tollenaar defeated Andrew Black and Devon Moskowitz, 6-2, William Elmers and Luke Tomson earned a 6-3 win over Adi Dagan and Aleksander Hudjec. John Gabelic and Tymofiy Khrystyuk teamed up to win the final doubles match for UNCG, 7-6 (3), giving the Spartans an early 1-0 advantage.

Khrystyuk pushed UNCG's lead to 2-0 in the dual by earning a 6-1, 6-4 singles win over Thomas Drapeau. Gabelic then made it 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Dagan. The Camels got on the board when Tollenaar won 6-3, 6-4 against Thomson, cutting the deficit to 3-1. Moskowitz extended UNCG's lead and ensured the victory by making it 4-1 Spartans with a 6-1, 7-6 (6) win over Hudjec. After Black came from behind to knock off Fragasso, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7), to make it 5-1 UNCG, Campbell earned its final point of the afternoon with Matias Lofink defeating Elmers, 7-6 (5), 7-5. However, UNCG still finished on top in the dual by a final score of 5-2.
